Baking Soda Shampoo Benefits

Your first experience with a shampoo made with Baking soda will be different from what you are used to because this shampoo will not form lather when it is applied on your hair. You will get used to this, and the effects on your hair growth and quality will be amazing.

Restore the shine to your hair.

This DIY homemade hair shampoo recipe is the perfect choice for people who try to avoid using harsh chemical based hair products.

It is a good choice for natural hair. Your days of wearing a hat because you woke up too late to groom your hair is over, on the morning after, your hair will retain its shine and attractive look.

The pH level of Baking Soda is higher than 7; this makes it classified as an alkaline compound.

This means, some hair types might not react to Baking Soda very well, so if you notice your hair becoming brittle or breaking easily, please stop using this hair care remedy.

Baking Soda is also recommended for other hair conditions such as dandruff, unexplained hair loss, change in hair color, etc.

I have described the simple steps you can use to make your own homemade shampoo with Baking Soda below.

Baking Soda Shampoo Recipe

You will need the following ingredients

  • Baking Soda
  • A Squeeze Bottle
  • Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

The Procedure

For Short Hair

•             Make a mixture of one part baking soda and three parts water in a small sized squeeze bottle.

For Longer Hair (Shoulder Length)

•             Make a mixture of two or three tablespoons of baking soda and three parts of water.

Method of Application

•             This mixture can be applied to wet or dry hair. Apply the mixture on your hair and massage it in, so the mixture gets to the roots of your hair, and the hair ends.

•             Let it stay on your hair for about three minutes, rinse properly with cold water. You will notice that there is little lather formed during this application, it is perfectly normal.

•             Next, rinse your hair with warm water.

•             Then proceed to apply a mixture of apple cider vinegar mixed in the ratio one part apple cider vinegar and four parts water. You can add some essential oils to this mixture to mask the smell of the apple cider if you don’t like it.

Prevent the apple cider vinegar from getting into your eyes by tilting your head backward; rinse your hair with warm water.

You can have a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water as described above always ready in your bathroom anytime you wish to use it.

Baking Soda Shampoo Before and After

How soon will the effects on your hair be apparent?

I recommend that you continue with this hair care therapy once a week for about a month, you will be impressed with the remarkable results. I always advocate these simple DIY therapies for everyone who wishes to avoid those nameless chemicals added to hair products sold in the shops.

You don’t have to rely on those exaggerated TV adverts for hair growth products anymore, with this DIY remedy, your hair will grow faster, and it will be healthy and very attractive.
